Mermaid Destination

The mermaid motif is a favorite at Island Cove. She can be found in our company logo and bead assortment, plus she's the inspiration for many of our artists' designs and even a few jewelry-making classes. Island Cove is your Mermaid Destination!

mermaid charms and toggles

Mermaid Charms & Toggles: earlier this year, Colleen and Sue restocked their selection of ocean-themed charms and clasps and of course they included pretty mermaid charms in silver, gold, bronze, and even patina'd copper! You can choose a single mermaid for a pendant, pick two for a pair of earrings, or select the "twin" or "sister mermaids" to symbolize you and your BFF. Shop the assortment of mermaid charms at the shop. There are also mermaid toggle clasps available which add a whimsical touch to your designs.

The Mermaid Collar necklace

Sign up for the "Mermaid Collar" beading class: This course taught by Sue is an absolute fan favorite at Island Cove. During the 2-hour class, you'll learn to make this gorgeous necklace with dagger beads that mimic the pretty scales of a mermaid's tail. The best part - you can adapt this Mermaid Collar design to include whatever colors inspire you.

Mermaid-inspired Artwork: many of Island Cove's artists have incorporated mermaids into their work on display. A few of our recent favorites include:

  • Catherine Valle's latest "red ground" painting features a trio of mermaids swimming through the ocean
  • Paulee Bowin's seashell-encrusted mermaids are one-of-a-kind and make for gorgeous wall hangings in any room
  • Melanie Cech's blown glass sculptures often include mermaids, like this one perched on a piece of white coral

If you'd love to purchase one of these pieces, give a quick call to the shop to check the availability and prices: 727-510-1657. Or drop by Island Cove - the destination for mermaid lovers in Indian Rocks Beach.
