It's a hands-on and educational experience!
You will learn all about hygge (pronounced hyoo-guh,) the Danish concept that encapsulates the art of creating a cozy, warm, and contented atmosphere, adopting a lifestyle that prioritizes the cultivation of meaningful connections with others, as well as a deep connection with oneself, and the role that candles play in embracing hygge.
You will also learn all about the history of scented candles, basic candle terms like “candle throw,” “melt pool” “first burn,” “wax memory,” “cure time,” and “fragrance notes,” important terms for understanding how to get the most from a scented candle.
You’ll learn about various types of candle waxes and fragrance available on the market today, how to calculate the amount of wax needed for the size of a vessel, how much fragrance to add, and the importance of mixing and pouring temperatures. You’ll also learn why choosing the right wick for the wax and fragrance is critical to the quality of the finished candle and how to troubleshoot candles that aren’t burning optimally.
Under the guidance of an experienced candle maker, each attendee will create their own Autumn Ambiance Czech glass bead embellished candle in a beautiful 8 oz satin finish tin.

Or if you're feeling like you want to play Mad Scientist, you can blend your own fragrance!
You'll choose a satin finish candle tin from four autumn leaf colors; Scarlet, Evergreen, Gamboge, or Auburn.
The wax is a luxury clean burning coconut and apricot blend and the whimsical wooden wicks say “cozy” on them and crackle when they burn!
SIP, SNACK AND SHOP

Enjoy complimentary beverages and light snacks. Then take a stroll through the beautiful Island Cove Beads & Gallery shop where you’ll choose your custom bead embellishments. We’ll play games with giveaways while your candle firms up. Your last step will be adding your embellishments.
DATE: SATURDAY SAT DEC 9
Note: You should allow your finished candle to cure for two weeks before burning to get the optimal room scenting.
TIME: 2-4 PM.

Includes: Hands on instruction. Supplies for each candle. Clean burning coconut apricot wax, all natural “crackling” wooden word (cozy) wick, 8 oz autumn candle tin, wick stand, wick sticker, complex fragrance oil, beads for embellishment, custom label, safety label. Educational materials, light snacks and beverages.
